Events
Tournaments, feasts and trials by combat. How to host one, and what the server does for you when you do.

What an event is
A gathering your town hosts: a horse race, a market day, a knighting, a funeral. It continues for 20 minutes, and because only one may run across the entire server, yours becomes the single event happening anywhere in the realm. The server announces it publicly, creates a dedicated wiki page, and delivers players directly to you.
Hosting one
A mayor or an officer creates the event, and everybody else simply attends.
/event create <type> [delay] <description>
Choose a type from the list below, which the Tab key completes for you. Then compose a genuine description of 12–24 words, which appears on both Discord and the wiki.
The delay
The optional delay measures forward from the moment you type the command. Write it as days, hours, minutes and seconds in that order, with no spaces.
/event create Feast 2h30m A great feast in the hall to mark the harvest, every town is welcome
Omit it and your event begins immediately. Units written out of order
fail, so 2h30m succeeds where 30m2h does not.
/event create Feast A great feast in the hall to mark the harvest, every town is welcome
Creating one is free.
Your town may hold only one event at a time, and two can never overlap.
If yours would overlap with another, the server names the town holding that
time and when they finish, so consult /event upcoming
beforehand.
Where it happens
Players arrive at your town's spawn. To direct them elsewhere, stand where
you want them and run /event setspawn: an arena, a great hall,
any location you prefer. The position must sit on your own claimed land,
which keeps hostile mobs out so that nobody arrives in the middle of a fight.
Who turns up
You never have to invite anybody, because the server delivers them automatically.
- While it's live. Anyone joining the server, or respawning after a death, lands at your event, whether member or not. If it was a login that moved them, one
/backputs them where they logged out. - Just before it starts. A booked event only brings players in during the last 5 minutes before it starts. Book days ahead and nobody is moved until then.
- When nothing is booked. Nobody is moved. You log back in where you logged out. A brand-new player with no town starts somewhere random in the wild.
The server announces it for you
- Discord. A short notice when you book it. Then a full announcement with your town's banner the moment it starts.
- The wiki. Its own page, updated again when it goes live.
