Player Shops

Put a chest up for sale and let it trade for you, online or not.

Making one

  1. Place a chest where you want the shop.
  2. Hold the item you want to trade.
  3. Left-click the chest.
  4. Type the price in chat, and choose whether you're selling to players or buying from them.

That's it, and creating a shop costs nothing at all. Prices must be whole numbers, so 3 is accepted and 2.5 is rejected. A sign appears above the chest automatically, displaying the item, the remaining stock and the price.

A single trade can deliver several items at once. Choose the stack size while creating the shop, and every customer then receives that quantity for your price. You can go up to 99 items in one trade, which is more than a full stack, by looking at your own shop and typing /qs size 99.

Where you can put one

One requirement decides this:

If clicking a chest produces no response at all, this is almost always the explanation: you are standing on land that you have no claim to.

Using one

Where the money goes

The chest stores the merchandise, never the money. You receive the full price immediately, whether or not you are online, so there is nothing to collect afterwards. A buying shop operates in reverse and suspends trading the moment your balance is exhausted. Check your balance with /balance.

Worth knowing

Selling brews

Seal a brew with /brew seal before you stock it: unsealed bottles do not stack, so every bottle takes a chest slot of its own. Sealed bottles stack when they share a recipe and a quality rating, up to 9 to a stack.

Everything else about brewing: Brews.
